We have had some really great film projects this year but as always, our favorite type of film projects are weddings. We traveled to Dayton, Ohio to film and photograph the wedding of Jenny and Patrick. They were married in a really unique location (Top of the Market) in downtown Dayton and there were ample opportunities for great places to film. I had the awesome assistance of Josh, our second videographer, who traveled with us for the wedding and did an excellent job. We appreciate him coming all that way with us to assist! Jenny and Patrick were a very laid back and great couple, we really enjoyed working with them and also their families. If you would like to see Kate’s photos from the day you can click here. Congrats Jenny and Patrick!
The fall is almost here! We are over halfway through our wedding season but entering actually our two busiest months of the year: September and October. Fall is such a popular time for not only weddings but also family sessions, senior sessions, and engagement sessions. We had a beautiful late summer day however for the wedding of Dr. Will and Michelle. The couple opted for a first look together which gave us a great opportunity to take some morning photos and video in the soft light along with a lot of time for fun bridal party shots after the ceremony. We worked with the always wonderful Makeup by Loren who did a fabulous job on the bridal party makeup and we again had another great reception in the beautifully decorated Effingham KC Hall. We loved that Will and Michelle went the non traditional route of having an ice cream sundae bar in lieu of a wedding cake and we were thankful the evening sunset was so beautiful so we could get some evening and night shots. You can check out our photos of the day here. We were once again assisted by the awesome Kayla from Kayla Elizabeth Photography and our second videographer Josh once again did an incredible job. We are so thankful to have an awesome crew to rock 2015 weddings.
We have been very busy on the Kate Key Photography blog this year and a little quieter on this blog. It hasn’t been for lack of projects as we have been completely swamped with videos this summer, some we can share, others we can’t. We have had the fortune of completing some corporate projects along with some private videos and of course we share with you today one of our more recent wedding videos. Brittany and Kris were a complete joy to work with and they had a fabulous wedding day. We had some really great opportunity to incorporate a lot of video portraits into this trailer at the beautiful Tuscan Hills Winery and St. Mary’s Church in Shumway provided us a great backdrop for the wedding ceremony. As always, Janet and her team at the Carriage House did a beautiful job with the reception and it was just overall and enjoyable day. We know that Brittany and Kris will live a long and happy life together and we were very honored to be a part of their big day. I won’t babble on but if you want to read more about their wedding day and view some pictures you can click here. Big thanks to our second video guy for the day Tim who again had some rocking footage!
We are excited to share with you the wedding of Beth and Jeremy. Doug has been working on several video projects the last several weeks (some we can share, some we can’t) and we are excited to finally show a wedding clip! I am taking over the blog for Doug today while he finishes up some other video projects! Beth and Jeremy had a fantastic June wedding day with great weather and a fun bridal party and we couldn’t say enough about this awesome couple. We spent the early morning preparation hours at Swagger Salon where they always do a great job getting everyone beautiful and ready for the wedding. The ceremony took place at the ever so beautiful St. Francis Church in Teutopolis where Beth and Jeremy had a very elegant and memorable ceremony. We enjoyed doing video of the bridal party antics when it came time to participate in the confetti guns and bridal party outdoor pictures. The Teutopolis KC Hall looked amazing as we could definitely tell that Beth had made her wedding vision come true. As always we are always happy to work with amazing vendors such as Design Pro (wedding signs and programs), Walnut Street Weddings (décor), and Swagger Salon (hair/makeup). You know a wedding day will run well when you have great people working on it! We loved Beth and Jeremy’s small touches throughout the day including the first look Beth shared with her Dad, the meaningful gifts Beth and Jeremy exchanged before the ceremony, and of course, the nacho cheese bar. The reception had a packed dance floor all night long and it was nice to see so many familiar faces. We love local weddings and we loved being at the wedding of Beth and Jeremy. You can see my photography coverage of their wedding here. We wish you both many years of joy!
We bring you this Sunday the wedding of Nicole and Nick! I (Kate) am taking over the blog for Doug today as he is busy getting wedding films out the door! Nicole and Nick were one of those couples so in love, nothing could ruin their perfect day, not even a monsoon of rain! Nicole and Nick had originally planned to get married outside in a garden but had to change their plans when mother nature saw fit to produce large amounts of rain and wind. What we loved about this couple is that they so easily transitioned to their indoor location and were still as happy and in love as ever. This is a great example of how this couple will continue to overcome obstacles in their lives! We loved working with both families as we were instantly welcomed and felt at home. We thankfully were able to get in some outdoor shots and video despite the rain and we were so thankful for that as we know some of our other photographer friends were not as lucky on this same day! Everything from the food to the decor was so detailed and beautiful we are so honored we were a part of this special day! We will keep this short and sweet as we know that the couple is anxious to see this trailer! Congrats to you both! We wish you many years of happiness!
