Key Annual Road Trip Vacation | Niagara Falls, ON and The Great Smokey Mountains, NC

 blog5

Several weeks ago we shared our vacation photos from our trip to Niagara Falls and The Great Smokey Mountains. We had a GREAT time and although we bought only our Fuji X100s for pictures and a small Go Pro for video we managed to get a little bit of footage to share with you from our amazing trip. We highly recommend visiting both places, especially Niagara Falls. If you want to read about all of the details of our trip and see photos you can check out Kate’s blog here.  Feel free to watch our video of our trip! Enjoy!

Brooke and Seth | Wedding @ St. Thomas Church, Newton IL

blog61

To say that we have been busy this year would be an understatement. We are so fortunate to be able to capture SO many great weddings for so many awesome people. Such as the case of Brooke and Seth. Despite the downpour of rain earlier in the day, Brooke was the CALMEST bride I think we have had in a long time. She was very relaxed as they did reception preparations and through her hair and makeup and it was so comforting to know that her bridal day look was in the capable hands of Katie (our awesome Florida bride) who literally does hair so fast you would think we sped up the video (we didn’t). She is ridiculously amazing. We got some time to bond and hang out with Seth during formal portraits and its very clear why everyone loves these two. They are so genuine and kind, it was such a fun day being a part of their wedding day. The bridesmaids had a very unique look to the day in addition to their super cute dresses they opted for clutch bags instead of flowers which is such a unique idea! The ceremony went smoothly and the rain parted just in time for Brooke and Seth to make a get away on a firetruck and take some pictures in a local sunflower field! We had a great day filming their wedding. Thanks to Josh for helping us out. Enjoy!

Elise and Dane | Wedding @ Dieterich, IL

blog97

We have been VERY busy preparing wedding trailers for all of our great couples this past June and now we share with you the wedding trailer of Elise and Dane! This couple was great to work with because they were very laid back and easy to get along with. Elise had done a great job providing a good schedule and some excellent wedding details that gave us great opportunities for filming. The couple had a great photo spot planned for us to do more filming and they also gave us the opportunity to get some evening shots as well. The dance was really enjoyable to film as there were lots of active guests having a great time. You can check out Kate’s blog here for photos of their big day! We will keep this short and sweet so Dane and Elise can enjoy the video! Enjoy!

Lauren and Jason | Wedding @ Crystal Tree Country Club, Orland Park IL

laurenblog

Back in June we had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Lauren and Jason up in the Chicago area. We enjoyed a change of scenery and loved interacting with Lauren and Jason. Both are very outgoing and a joy to be around and it was very clear at the wedding and reception how very loved they were by their friends and family. Despite a bit of rain they had a great wedding ceremony and a very elegant reception complete with a backdrop of a wonderful sunset and a lot of speeches and entertainment to film. Not only did Lauren have surprises up her sleeve for Jason throughout the day(a dress adjustment for the first dance) but some of the bridal party also had some surprises for Jason (a serenade). All in all it was a great and active wedding to film and we were happy to be present for the party! Congrats to you both, enjoy a long happy life together.

Emily and Scott | Wedding @ St. Francis Church Teutopolis, IL

We are cruising right along this June wedding season sharing with you the wedding of Emily and Scott. We had an absolute GREAT day shooting this wedding it was so laid back and the couple was SO natural in front of our cameras. A HUGE thank you to Billi Jansen of Walnut Street Weddings for providing us with an AWESOME location for photos (The Austin Mansion) which is soon to be a wonderful wedding venue location, we are so excited to shoot a wedding there later this year. We started the morning at the new Swagger Salon in Teutopolis where one of my favorite local hair stylists Jessie did a flawless job on Emily’s hair followed by one of the area’s best makeup artists, Kaitlyn Hartke completing Emily’s natural bridal look. Emily had a great schedule which allowed us not only ample time for some great photos but also allowed us time to visit her grandmother who was unable to make it to the wedding. The reception was full of laughs and great dancing and as I love to do we were able to sneak outside for some great evening shots. Thanks Emily and Scott for making our day so enjoyable and easy, you were a blast to work with and we can’t wait to share the final products with you. You can check out my photos of their day here.
